We then moved onto Green Fountain Caravan Resort, some 6 kilometres east of Port Alfred. This park is one of the finest we have stayed at; each stand has its own bathroom with dishwashing facilities immediately outside. The owners, Tony and Cindy Maddison, came to greet us personally and gave us a welcoming kit of things to see and do in the area. The cherry on top was their extremely competitive weekly and monthly pensioner rates. We will be back!

Our journey then took us to Port Alfred and the beautiful Green Fountain Caravan Resort. We had private ablutions again, in what was the best caravan park on our trip. Cindy Maddison was information personified and upon arrival we were told all about the prevailing winds and the best position in which to park our caravan. This is a super place to relax, with the added bonus of game on the opposite side of the road. Green Fountain stood out as an excellent place to stay — we’ll go back again some day for sure.

Just a short note to say thank you for the 3 days we spent at your delightful caravan park and your thoughtfulness in providing a cake when you found out Trevor had a birthday on the Saturday. The other highlight was the service at the little chapel where we met up with other Christians at the worship service on the Sunday morning.

We had such peace of mind when we went out because we knew Tony, with his caring attitude, will drop the gazebo’s in case of that strong wind and ensure that the place is well looked after. “Just a note to thank you guys for the wonderful, all too short, time we spent at GFCR. Had I known earlier just how super your resort is, I would have tried to fit in an extra day or so with you. My “Sheep” asked me to tell you that you get “The Park of the Tour” award from them, and certainly from my side you get the “Operator Par Excellence” award for the co-operative and friendly manner in which you deal with your clientele. Colin, Colleen, Chelsea, Ashleigh, Darren and Jamie would all like to thank you for the most wonderful holiday and caravanning experience we have just had at Green Fountain. Everything was so enjoyable and we just cannot get over how you have managed to transform this big open area into such a wonderful caravan park with beautiful gardens and exceptional ablutions.
It was so lovely meeting you and especially spending Thursday evening with you, we just hope that we did not intrude on your time with your other guests. Looking forward to seeing you again soon and visiting your wonderful park.
